Synopsis

Elastofibroma dorsi is a rare, benign tumor of fibrous and adipose tissue of the periscapular region. It typically occurs in middle-aged and older female adults. Elastofibroma dorsi may be asymptomatic or present with some degree of periscapular prominence, swelling, pain, and limited range of motion in the shoulder region. It may develop bilaterally.

It is advisable to rule out malignant growth. Once benign elastofibroma dorsi is confirmed, no surgical removal is required.
