Synopsis
A type of cancer consisting of large malignant cells of epithelial origin that are characterized by the presence of abundant granular eosinophilic cytoplasm known as oncocytes. Typical examples of oncocytic tumors include thyroid gland oncocytic follicular carcinoma, oncocytic breast carcinoma, renal oncocytic tumor, and salivary gland oncocytic carcinoma.
