Synopsis
Idiopathic eruptive macular pigmentation (IEMP) is an acquired pigmentation of unknown etiology affecting primarily children and adolescents. It presents as asymptomatic, discrete, brown or black macules on the neck, torso, and proximal extremities. It has been reported to occasionally involve the face. Lesions develop without a history of preceding inflammation and tend to completely resolve over months to years.
